So let’s dig in to learn more..

Ayat Al Qur’an - Surah Al-Shūrā (The Consultation) - (42:49)

To Allah belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth. He creates what He wills. He bestows female (offspring) upon whom He wills, and bestows male (offspring) upon whom He wills.

1 Hadith

Jabir ibn Abdullah reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever has three daughters and he cares for them, he is merciful to them, and he clothes them, then Paradise is certainly required for him.” It was said, “O Messenger of Allah, what if he has only two?” The Prophet said, “Even two.” Some people thought that if they had said to him one, the Prophet would have said even one.

Reflection Point

Bringing up daughters in today's society can be a real challenge for Muslim parents. With the lure of fashion, fame and fortune, it can be a quick and swift path to destruction for righteous young women.

It’s upon the fathers and sons (and wider community) to make sure that the womenfolk in their household are protected, treated well and shown mercy.

Yes..

It’s not an easy task!

Especially for those who have been blessed with many daughters.

But remember..

The reward is Jannah as promised by our Messenger Muhammad ﷺ.

Likewise, brothers of sisters must be extremely mindful about how they treat their sisters (young & old).

Making sure their sisters are accompanied when needed, protected from harmful people or distractions and shown mercy through their turbulent times.

All of this requires an abundance of patience.

And something that should be a focus during  easy and difficult times.

Let’s not forget that Allah, The Most High, is with the patient ones.

So remain patient, cultivate and teach your womenfolk regarding their religion.

Uphold their rights in accordance to the Sunnah, and treat them with gentleness and wisdom.
