Ayat Al Qur’an - Surah Al Baqarah (The Cow) - (2:185)
The month of Ramadhan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur'an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights [the new moon of] the month, let him fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey - then an equal number of other days. Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship and [wants] for you to complete the period and to glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and perhaps you will be grateful.

1 Hadith

On the first night of the month of Ramadan, the devils are chained and the jinn are restrained, the gates of Hellfire are closed and none of its gates are opened, the gates of Paradise are opened and none of its gates are closed, and a heavenly caller announces: O seeker of good, come near! O seeker of evil, stop short! Allah has those He saves from the Hellfire, and that is during every night.

Reflection Point

As we begin these blessed days and nights of Ramadān.
It’s important to understand that Ramadān is a time of reflection.
A time when you can think clearly.
Why?
Because the Shayateen have been chained.
So you'll find that whisperings disappear and the temptations reduce.
Allowing you to feel alot lighter..
Almost like a weight has been taken off your shoulders.
Right?
But it's not just that.
It's an opportunity to rack up good deeds.
Imagine..
Your driving your car home from work.
And most days, the roads are full of congestion..
Traffic lights, always red.
And people constantly crossing the road in front of you.
But one day..
You set off on your journey home.
And the road has been made clear for you.
The moon is bright and the weather is clear.
No congestion & no distractions on the journey.
This is exactly how Ramadān is for you.
The path has been made clear for you.
Free from distraction and a chance to focus.
So put your foot down on the gas.
And strive!
With righteous deeds!
Be generous to others.
And be sincere in your actions, while following the prophetic tradition.
For verily Allah is الْبَصِيرُ (Al-Basir)
The Seer of Everything.
(Al-Khabir)
The All-Aware of what you do.
So know..
That absolutely nothing you do, will be lost.
This week we have designed an infographic highlighting the 5 things that happened on the first night of Ramadān, when the crescent moon was sighted.
The locking up of evil.
And opening up of all goodness.
It's a huge opportunity to put your case forward for Jannah and distance yourself from the Hellfire.
So why do you not strive?
Your task this week is to print out, laminate and share "The 5 Facts on The First Night of Ramadān" Infograph with as many friends and family as possible, so they also get the memo!
Try to stick it up in the communal area of the home, so that it will remind you and the rest of the family of the path being cleared for you to step on the gas!
Because before you know it..
Ramadān will be over...
Without a guarantee that you will see the next one..
