We hope you are well and in the best of health and emaan…
12 days into Ramadhan!
Well done and keep up the good work!
You will slowly start to feel the fatigue creep in, but you need to keep going..
Remember, we’re starting strong and ending strong insha Allah.
One of the ways that we maintain our strength throughout this beautiful month is by eating the right foods, in the right proportions, at the right times.
So many of us end up overeating in Ramadhan, when the secret is to eat light.
The Prophet ﷺ would eat light and not overeat.
Here at Sunnah Infographics, we not only care about your deen, but we also care about your physical health and wellbeing.
So today's reminder is going to be on just that insha Allah!
Ayat Al Qur’an - Al-Mu'minun (The Believers) - (Quran 23:51)
O (you) Messengers! Eat of the Taiyibat [all kinds of Halal (legal) foods which Allah has made legal (meat of slaughtered eatable animals, milk products, fats, vegetables, fruits, etc.], and do righteous deeds. Verily! I am Well-Acquainted with what you do.
1 Hadith
It was narrated that Anas ibn Maalik (may Allaah be pleased with him) said: The Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) used to break his fast with fresh dates before praying. If there were no fresh dates, then with dried dates, and if there were no dried dates, then with a few sips of water. Narrated by Ahmad (12265), Abu Dawood, 2356.
Reflection Point
Maintaining a healthy body in general can be a difficulty in this day and age. With so much variety, so many options and plenty of opportunities to indulge in different foods. We should focus on making our lives a lot more simpler, especially during the holy month of Ramadhan. The Prophet ﷺ at the time of iftar would eat dates, drink water and proceed to the prayer. Simple and light. How many of us have eaten too much and struggled to get to the masjid or simply just stay up and avoid sleeping the whole evening.
Remember, there is always tremendous wisdom in the Sunnah. Did you know, Dates are an excellent form of fiber and high in iron, potassium, calcium, and magnesium. They are a wonderful source of energy because they are also high in carbohydrates and provide that energy boost we all need.
So perfect for both Suhoor and Iftar!
Remember, we are what we eat. So eat light and you’ll think light!
Enjoy your cultural dishes, but try not to overindulge.
Your body will thank you for it, later down the line insha Allah.
