It’s your Sunnah Infographics Family here.
Hope you're well and in good health.
Just under 2 weeks to go until Ramadān.
Where food will be off limits during the day.
But in reality..
What actually happens is..
We end up eating more in the evenings!
As the womanfolk cook and prepare the delicious food.
As soon as evening hits..
The food disappears in a matter of seconds..
But not to worry!
It's all part of the fun!
So...
So...
To make sure nobody is fighting over the last chicken leg.
We’ll be discussing some important etiquettes when eating together.
Especially when your intensely looking at the clock.
We’ll be discussing some important etiquettes when eating together.
Especially when your intensely looking at the clock.
Just before sunset!
And it's time to break fast.
Ready to dig in?
Let's go..
Bismillah.
Ayat Al Qur’an - Surah Al Baqarah (The Cow) - (2:185)
The month of Ramadhan [is that] in which was revealed the Qur'an, a guidance for the people and clear proofs of guidance and criterion. So whoever sights [the new moon of] the month, let him fast it; and whoever is ill or on a journey - then an equal number of other days. Allah intends for you ease and does not intend for you hardship and [wants] for you to complete the period and to glorify Allah for that [to] which He has guided you; and perhaps you will be grateful.
1 Hadith
Umar bin Abu Salamah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), said to me, "Mention Allah's Name (i.e., say Bismillah before starting eating), eat with your right hand, and eat from what is near you."
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Reflection Point
Throughout the month of Ramadān...
Families and communities gather around to break fast together.
It can often become a first come..
First serve situation!
Hungry hands and mouths flying left, right and centre.
But again..
Not to worry!
We have the practice of our Messenger Muhammad ﷺ.
To get everything in order!
So what are these beautiful etiquettes?
1) We say Bismillah before we eat.
2) We eat with our right hand.
3) We eat from the food that is closest to our position from the plate.
Simple and safe!
It’s important to remember these etiquettes.
It’s important to remember these etiquettes.
Why?
Because it is a means to attain blessings and baraakah in your food.
Because it is a means to attain blessings and baraakah in your food.
A protection from the Shaytaan.
And a way to organise large gatherings of people.
And a way to organise large gatherings of people.
Especially when everyone is hungry.
And eating from the same plate.
