As Salaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmutallahi Wa Baraakaatahu,
It’s your Sunnah Infographics Family here!

Friends..
What is the definition of a true friend and companion?
Up until today...
Many still don't know.
With social media and digital devices.
Replacing face to face and wholesome connections.
A real disconnection from the real world is taking place.
Right infront of our eyes.
So lets open up our eyes a little wider..
And build meaningful relationships with good companions..
Before you look up from your phone..
And realise nobody is around..

Ayat Al Qur’an - Surah Anfal (The Spoils of War) - (8:63)

And He has united their (i.e. believers') hearts. If you had spent all that is in the earth, you could not have united their hearts, but Allah has united them. Certainly He is All-Mighty, All-Wise.

Reflection Point

With the number of people who live alone increasing to over 30% in the last few decades...
It's important to know who your friends really are..
The friendship cycle starts off..
With large groups of friends in the early years..
And simmers down to a few close companions as you get older.
Many pass away..
Many move abroad..
And many just simply don't keep in contact.
And that's fine.
But it's important to know..
That your friendship detector should be sound and alert!
As you progress through your life.
So that you can save precious time.
So how do we make it sound and alert?
Here are a few pointers to help..
1) Learn to look for friends that adhere to their religion. Because if they don't respect the limits of Allah. Then it is highly possible that they won't respect you.
2) Learn to look for those companions who support and protect your honour in your absence. This shows that they are not dishonest and hypocritical.
3) Learn to look for those companions who advise you with sincere and wholesome advice at the right times. As advice has a time and a place.
4) Learn to look for companions who respect your family, culture and personal interests. You should never feel ashamed or embarrassed about what is true to you.
Finding good companions can be a challenge...
And takes time.
But once you find one.
And he or she passes your friendship detector test.
Let them in.
It may take a lifetime!
But just know...
You've managed to find one right here every Monday morning!
Hopefully passing your friendship detector test.
And becoming a true companion on this journey we call life.
