Ayat Al Qur’an - Surah Al Tin (The Fig)  95:4
لَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَٰنَ فِىٓ أَحْسَنِ تَقْوِيمٍ
We have certainly created man in the best stature (in form, appearance, balance and strength, coupled with innate disposition, fiṭrah, and the power of reason).

1 Hadith

Al-Miqdam ibn Ma’dikarib reported: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “The son of Adam cannot fill a vessel worse than his stomach, as it is enough for him to take a few bites to straighten his back. If he cannot do it, then he may fill it with a third of his food, a third of his drink, and a third of his breath.”

Reflection Point

Oftentimes..
Food can be the only thing we get to enjoy!
During Ramadhan, family gatherings, weddings, births of a newborn, Eids etc
But even with that..
We have to manage our food intake correctly.
Sometimes, we see our stomachs as a bottomless pit.
That can deal with anything we put inside it.
Until it sends it back out from where it came in!
So don’t overload it.
Provide it with space to function.
And treat it respectfully.
Look at the washing machine for example.
We use it to wash our clothes effectively.
But if you overload it with water, clothes or powder.
You will damage the machine overtime...
And the clothes won’t wash properly!
The stomach works in a very similar fashion.
So be measured with what you put inside it.
By leaving...
⅓ for Food.
⅓ for Water.
&
⅓ for Air.
Allowing it to do its job effectively!
And with plenty of space to operate...
Helping to reduce the possibility of you suffering from…
  • Gastroesophageal reflux disease
  • Bloating
  • Stomach ulcers
  • Breathlessness
  • Constipation
  • laziness & lethargy.
This week your task is to pay attention to your stomach.
Be mindful as to how much you load it.
    When eating...
Allow it, the space it needs to do the job it was created for. Don't overload it. But rather allow space for air and water. Thus helping you nurture a stronger immune system overall.
    Insha Allah
    After all..
Your body is the vehicle that carries your soul through this life.
    So look after it..
It will thank you later with a long and healthy life
