Ayat Al Qur’an - Surah Al Jinn - (72:18)
وَأَنَّ ٱلْمَسَٰجِدَ لِلَّهِ فَلَا تَدْعُوا۟ مَعَ ٱللَّهِ أَحَدًا
And (Allāh revealed) that the mosques (and places of prostration of the body, the forehead, hands, knees and feet) are for (the worship of) Allāh alone, so do not invoke anyone alongside Allāh.

Hadith 1
Anas bin Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, said:

“From the Sunnah is that a person enters the masjid with his right foot first, and leaves the masjid with his left foot first.”

[Mustadraq al-Hakim (1/314)]

Hadith 2

Abu Usayd reported: The Messenger of Allah,  said, “When one of you enters the mosque, let him say: O Allah, open for me the doors of your mercy. When he leaves, let him say: O Allah, I ask you for your favor.”

Reflection Point
From childhood..
One of the first things we learn is our right from our left.
It can often be a complex affair for some little ones.
But for others, they pick it up and hit the ground running!
The only issue is that..
As we grow older...
And the daily interactions become overwhelming.
We don't seem to give precedence to one over the other.
It just becomes a bit of a mish mash of the two.
So what do we do?
Well..
It's only right that you give precedence to the right!
Because this was the Sunnah of the Prophet ﷺ.
Whether it be giving charity, putting on the shoe or eating.
We use our right!
(as for our left, we use it for lowly and impure actions)
But as for the Masjid, the same applies.
In with the right, out with the left!
So how many times have you entered the Masjid?
More than you can remember!
Did you enter with the right?
Did you say the Dua?
Did you exit with the left?
Hmmm..
Give it some thought!
Because if not..
Then it's a habit that you ought to adopt.
Because in it is a blessing and reward.
That you can't afford to leave out of your book of good deeds!
This week, we have designed an infographic to encourage all of our subscribers to utilise their right, at the right times and in the right ways. Think before you act, and even if you stop for a second or two to rectify your action. It's a beautiful sign that your correcting your daily habits, to fall in line with the way of the Prophet ﷺ.
What a beautiful correction and application.
