As Salaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmutallahi Wa Baraakaatahu,
It’s your Sunnah Infographics Family here!
We hope you are well and in the best of health and emaan…
We will be focusing on making sure you take care of your sleep patterns and night routine.
In today's fast paced societies, there are many people who suffer from sleep deprivation or insomnia.
What is insomnia?
Insomnia is when you aren't sleeping as you should. That can mean you aren't sleeping enough, you aren't sleeping well or you're having trouble falling or staying asleep.
Today we will share some benefits of making sure you are following the prophetic sunnah when going to sleep insha Allah.
Ayat Al Qur’an - Surah Al- Imran (The Family of Imran) - (3:191)
Those who remember Allah (always, and in prayers) standing, sitting, and lying down on their sides, and think deeply about the creation of the heavens and the earth, (saying): "Our Lord! You have not created (all) this without purpose, glory to You! (Exalted be You above all that they associate with You as partners). Give us salvation from the torment of the Fire.
1 Hadith
Al-Bara' bin 'Azib (May Allah be pleased with them) reported: Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) directed me thus: "Whenever you go to bed, perform Wudu' as you do for Salat then (before sleeping) recite: 'O Allah! I have submitted myself to You, I have turned myself to You, committed my affairs to You and sought Your refuge for protection out of desire for You and fear of You (expecting Your reward and fearing Your punishment). There is no refuge and no place of safety from You but with You. I believe in the Book You have revealed and in the Prophet (ﷺ) You have sent."' Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) added: "If anyone recites these words and dies during the night, he will die on the true Deen, and if he remains alive till the morning, he will obtain good. And make this supplication your last words (before sleeping)."
[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].
Reflection Point
Sometimes we wonder to ourselves, why are we having difficulties sleeping?
Perhaps, it could be related to a particular difficulty or trial that we are going through.
It could be related to worries, anguish and anxiety.
The cure for this is knowing the etiquettes of sleeping properly in accordance to the prophetic sunnah. It is a cure for many of the difficulties in life, not just for sleep. This reminder, is to assist and help our brothers and sisters practice these forgotten sunnan and implement it in their lives, creating more tranquility throughout your days and nights. It’s important to understand that we are created weak, and we have no idea of the wisdom behind actions that we are encouraged to do in accordance to the sunnah. But we do them regardless, because we know that Allah is the most knowledgeable and the most wise regarding all of our affairs.
Alhamdulillah.
Now this should settle our hearts. Insha Allah
Please note that this is a religious reminder, and not medical advice.
