As summer in most parts of the world has well and truly begun!
Many of the Muslims may be travelling or getting ready to embark on travel.
With this being the case, it is always important to remember the importance of Dua when traveling.
Let’s take a short trip to find out why?
Ayat Al Qur’an - Surah Al Baqarah (The Cow) - (2:186)
وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِى عَنِّى فَإِنِّى قَرِيبٌ أُجِيبُ دَعْوَةَ ٱلدَّاعِ إِذَا دَعَانِ فَلْيَسْتَجِيبُوا۟ لِى وَلْيُؤْمِنُوا۟ بِى لَعَلَّهُمْ يَرْشُدُونَ
And when My slaves ask you (O Muhammad SAW) concerning Me, then (answer them), I am indeed near (to them by My Knowledge). I respond to the invocations of the supplicant when he calls on Me (without any mediator or intercessor). So let them obey Me and believe in Me, so that they may be led aright.
1 Hadith
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ، عَنْ يَحْيَى، عَنْ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ: ثَلاَثُ دَعَوَاتٍ مُسْتَجَابَاتٍ: دَعْوَةُ الْمَظْلُومِ، وَدَعْوَةُ الْمُسَافِرِ، وَدَعْوَةُ الْوَالِدِ عَلَى وَلَدِهِ.
Abu Hurayra reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "There are three supplications which are answered: the supplication of the person who is wronged, the supplication of the traveller, and the supplication of a parent for his child.

Reflection Point
As we embark on the summer, many of us will be travelling to visit other family members, friends and relatives.
Throughout such a time, it is important to remember that travel has its hardships and difficulties.
Why?
Because we are away from our normal day to day comforts.
The surroundings when travelling are unfamiliar.
Fatigue, delays, and travel sickness can also be the cause of much difficulty.
So with all of the hardships that travel encompasses.
We must always remember that travel has a tremendous benefit for the Muslim.
And that is the supplication of the traveler is not rejected.
SubhanAllah.
Your supplications are answered.
So as you embark on your travels, plan your holidays and visit relatives in different lands or cities.
Remember to call upon Allah alone.
And seek his aid, assistance and counsel in your affairs. Make dua for your child, if you are a parent. And if you have been wronged, supplicate that your oppressor is compensated for their oppression.
For verily Allah is your guardian upon your travel.
And truly He will take care of your affairs.
