As Salaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmutallahi Wa Baraakaatahu

It’s your Sunnah Infographics Family here!

We hope you are well and in good health.

It’s the final stretch!

The last ten nights began on Saturday night!

That means we have only 8 nights remaining.

All odd nights could potentially be Laylatul Qadr..

But remember as we said..

Let's strive throughout all the 10 nights Insha Allah.

To leave no stone unturned!

This week we will be sharing an important reminder on Zakat Al Fitr and how to give it...

Remember..

This is only a reminder, so always check with your local imaam at your local masjid for more information.

Let's learn more..

Hadith 1

Sad b. Abu Sarh heard Abu Sa'id al-Khudri as saying: We used to take out as the Zakat of Fitr one sa' of grain, or one sa' of barley or one sa' of dates, or one sa' of cheese or one sa' of raisins.

Sahih al-Bukhari 1506

Hadith 2

Narrated Ibn `Umar: The Prophet (ﷺ) ordered the people to pay Zakat-ul-Fitr before going to the `Id prayer.

Sahih al-Bukhari 1509

Reflection Point

Sadly, we are approaching the end of Ramadhan.

But not quite yet!

We still have some time to strive in our acts of worship before we exit this beautiful month of forgiveness and mercy.

But just before we exit the month...

We are obligated to pay our Zakat Al Fitr!

And it’s a must that it be paid before the Salaatul Eid.

So as always, we are informing you well in advance for you to prepare and organise what you plan to give and how you plan to give it.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to pay the Zakatul Fitr in the form of food and not cash money.

So this week, we have designed a colourful and well-designed infographic to highlight some of the food options that you can pay the Zakat Al Fitr in. The food choices vary and it depends on your country, your community and what you have available in your locality.

But before that...

Some Food for thought

We fast throughout the entire month holding back from food and drink, foul speech, bad behaviour and bad company and we end the month with giving food to the poor in the form of the same thing that we have been prevented from eating during the daylight hours.

Truly humbling!

There are truly people in this world who have no food and drink and are starving like our beloved brothers and sisters in Palestine and across the world. So this month has been a lesson for us to know what it must feel like to go without food and drink.

So be thankful and grateful for the blessings upon you and make this Zakatul Fitr a truly meaningful one when you give it, keeping in mind those who have less than you.

SubhanAllah.
