As Salaamu Alaikum Wa Rahmutallahi Wa Baraakaatahu,
It’s your Sunnah Infographics Family here!
We hope you are all well and in good health.
This week, we will be enlightening you with foods from the Sunnah that will keep you strong and healthy throughout the winter season insha Allah.
As Winter approaches, there are many things that a person can do to make sure that they maintain a healthy diet during the cold days and nights.
Ayat Al Qur’an - Surah Al Baqarah (The Cow) - (2:168)
O mankind! Eat of that which is lawful and good on the earth, and follow not the footsteps of Shaitan (Satan). Verily, he is to you an open enemy.
Ayat Al Qur’an - Surah Al Rahman (The Most Gracious) - (55:10-13)
And the earth He laid [out] for the creatures.
Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates]
And grain having husks and scented plants.
So which of the blessings (and powers) of your Lord—(O jinn and men)—will you both deny?
1 Hadith
The Prophet ﷺ said: “The human being can fill no container worse than his belly. Sufficient for the son of Adam are so many morsels of food as will keep his spine upright. But if he must eat more, then a third for his food, a third for his drink and a third for his breath.”
At-Tibb An-Nabawī p.20. Hadīth reported by Imām Ahmad in Al-Musnad (4/132), At-Tirmidhī (2499), Ibn Mājah (3349), and it was authenticated by Al-Albānī in Sahīh Sunan At-Tirmidhī (1939).
Reflection Point
As Winter approaches, coughs and colds start to spread among the people. So It’s important to maintain a healthy diet and eat the right foods that will keep the body strong and fit.
When we look around us in the supermarkets, grocery stores and shops; it can often be overwhelming with the amount of choice. This can sometimes have a negative effect on our diets, because there is just simply too much choice, which causes confusion!
So what is the key?
The key is to keep it light and simple!
This was exactly the practice of our Prophet ﷺ. He would eat simple foods and eat light. Exactly as the hadith mentioned. He would leave a third for air, a third for food and a third for drink.
In today's society, we are encouraged to eat everything and anything, as long as it’s on the shop shelf and there is a special offer.
But we have to think twice!
The ingredients in our food that we buy is not always clear and the after effects of whatever we eat can leave lasting damage to the body, only catching up to you in older age.
By then..
It’s too late to reverse!
So for this reason here at Sunnah Infographics, we have designed a beautiful, informative and light Infographic with some prophetic foods and their benefits for you to include as part of your diet this Winter and throughout the year insha Allah.
Remember...
"Whoever guides someone to goodness will have a reward like one who did it."
