As the Los Angeles Wildfires slowly come under control..
The devastation and destruction is clear for mankind to see.
While we truly hope for the safety of those affected.
It is a staunch reminder of the Hellfire.
In the hearafter.
Al Jahannam.
Whose fuel is men and stones...
Will we not then take heed?
Ayat Al Qur’an - Surah Al Tahrim (The Prohibition) (66:6)
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ قُوٓا۟ أَنفُسَكُمْ وَأَهْلِيكُمْ نَارًا وَقُودُهَا ٱلنَّاسُ وَٱلْحِجَارَةُ عَلَيْهَا مَلَٰٓئِكَةٌ غِلَاظٌ شِدَادٌ لَّا يَعْصُونَ ٱللَّهَ مَآ أَمَرَهُمْ وَيَفْعَلُونَ مَا يُؤْمَرُونَ
O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is people and stones, over which are [appointed] angels, harsh and severe; they do not disobey Allah in what He commands them but do what they are commanded.
1 Hadith
Abu Huraira reported: The Prophet ﷺ said, “Your fire, which the son of Adam ignites, is only one of seventy parts from the fire of Hell.” They said, “By Allah, that would be enough, O Messenger of Allah!” The Prophet said, “Verily, it exceeds it by sixty nine parts, each of which are like its heat.”

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ نَارُكُمْ هَذِهِ الَّتِي يُوقِدُ ابْنُ آدَمَ جُزْءٌ مِنْ سَبْعِينَ جُزْءًا مِنْ حَرِّ جَهَنَّمَ قَالُوا وَاللهِ إِنْ كَانَتْ لَكَافِيَةً يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ قَالَ فَإِنَّهَا فُضِّلَتْ عَلَيْهَا بِتِسْعَةٍ وَسِتِّينَ جُزْءًا كُلُّهَا مِثْلُ حَرِّهَا2843 صحيح مسلم كتاب الجنة وصفة نعيمها وأهلها باب في شدة حر نار جهنم وبعد قعرها وما تأخذ من المعذبين
Reflection Point
As the Los Angeles Wildfires have left a path of destruction behind it.
Those who look on in grief and despair…
Watch their homes, livelihoods and entire communities burnt to ashes.
In just a few days.
Do we not take heed of the signs?
With entire communities wiped off the map…
Due to the intense heat of the wildfires.
Do we not then reflect on the hereafter?
Know.
That indeed your Lord gives..
And he takes..
Regardless of your worldly status...
Your financial power...
Your fame and fortunes...
It is not in your hands.
Our Messenger Muhammad ﷺ
Informed us over 1,400 years ago..
That the fire of this world is only 1 part…
Of 70 parts of the Hellfire in the hereafter.
SubhanAllah.
Even when we reflect on the fires of this world.
They are frightful to look at or be close to...
So what about the fire of the hearafter?
Where it is 70 times hotter!
Something unimaginable!
So the natural disasters that we witness are almost like signs.
That come and go..
Reminding us of the hearafter...
Highlighting the fleeting nature of this world that we live in.
Al Dunya.
Where the clothing on your back is not guaranteed for tomorrow!
Even the houses that we spend years working for...
Can disappear in a day.
Have we not seen it?
So the question is.
What do we truly invest our time and efforts in?
Answer: The intellectual person prepares himself or herself.
Their families & their communities.
For the meeting with their Lord سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَى
Working righteous deeds in accordance with the prophetic Sunnah.
And staying away from associating partners with Allah.
For verily if you focus on these two factors.
You'll be prepared for the trials, life will throw at you.
Because your focus is on the real destination that never ends..
Al Jannah.
This week, we have prepared an important reminder on the 70 parts of the Hellfire in the hereafter. A warning to protect yourself and your families from it. And an encouragement to take heed of the signs we see in this world from Wildfires, Volcanoes, Explosions, Structural Fires, Flash fires, Industrial fires and many more.
