Ayat Al Qur’an - Surat Al-'Isrā' 17:110 (The Night Journey)

Say, "Call upon Allah or call upon the Most Merciful. Whichever [name] you call - to Him belong the best names." And do not recite [too] loudly in your prayer or [too] quietly but seek between that an [intermediate] way.

Reflection Point:

This week we are focusing on the characteristic of generosity. As the hadith mentions, Allah is generous and he loves generosity. When we look at our own selves, we can see many of the blessings that Allah has blessed us with. Eyesight, so that we can see the beauty of the creation, hearing, so that we can hear the beautiful words of the Qur’an, touch, so that we can feel and be affectionate with our loved ones. Has Allah not given us much? Yet, we find mankind ungrateful and negligent in their manners. Generosity is something that is loved by Allah, and something that all of us should strive to implement into our lives with those around us. This week, reflect upon your generosity with others, with your time, your wealth, your effort and your affection. Think of something or someone you can give to, or someone who is in need of your support and follow it through without fearing poverty. Refrain from stinginess, and holding back, for verily Allah loves generosity, and he loves exalted morals.
